The Association of Christian Counsellors is a professional body for Christian Counsellors and a support organisation for those involved in Pastoral Care. For counsellors ACC offers various levels of accreditation and has a system of recognition of training courses that they might undertake. For Pastoral Carers we offer a Pastoral Skills resource pack. For both we offer conferences and regionally organised events for training purposes.
The British and Irish Association for Practical Theology is an active forum for practitioners, teachers and researchers in the broad field of practical and pastoral theology. It was founded in 1994, and has grown through its broad based networks and successful annual conferences to an active membership of over two hundred in Britain and Ireland and further afield. BIAPT is one of the key sponsors of the journal Practical Theology (formerly Contact).
provides high–quality professional counselling training in the context of Christian theology and spirituality. It offers a Diploma in Pastoral Counselling, validated by the University of Wales, together with a range of Continuing Professional Development events. Although the Institute is based in Nottingham, because of the flexible nature of the programme, students come from all over the United Kingdom to train. Our experienced training team has been working together since 1993.
